Jessie Huff from Apple Valley Graduates from Augustana College

Four hundred and thirteen students participated in the Augustana College Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 25, at the Elmen Center.

Jessie Huff from Apple Valley, MN, was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude.

The ceremony's speakers included:

  • Dr. Peter Schotten, professor of Government and International Affairs and Social Science Division Chair. Schotten has received several honors while teaching at Augustana, including the Orin M. Lofthus Distinguished Professorship, the Frederick Kohlmeyer Distinguished Teaching Professorship and the Burlington Northern Excellence in Teaching Award.
  • Molly Kokesh, class of 2013. A native of Scotland, S.D., Kokesh is a German and Government/International Affairs major, Political Philosophy minor, and a Civitas honor student. While at Augustana, she served in the student senate; was co-president of Augie Green, the campus environmental group; an All-American track athlete and member of Augustana's Cross Country team; and traveled to Norway in 2012 as a Peace Prize Forum Scholar.
